The creator of The Social Work Creative and Social Work Creative Planner. I started this journey because I realized there were other social workers, just like me, who needed a little extra ambition, inspiration and stepping outside the box!

Let’s go back to the beginning... I earned my Master of Social Work from Alabama A&M University and have been a Social Worker for more than 13 years. Throughout my career I have been able to work with amazing clients from all walks of life, including veterans, adolescents, those in foster care, medical settings, psychiatric care, juvenile justice, hospice and geriatric care and many aspects of the community.

I’ve also created a women empowerment group for Habitat for Humanity and the YWCA, as well as overseen the hosting of many National Social Work Months. All of these unique experiences have taught me something valuable.

Through these experiences over the years, I have learned a lot about what it takes to be a great social worker. One critical thing you must have - organization! That’s why I decided to start making planners and other stationary, specifically designed for my fellow social workers.

I started this venture/idea in 2018, and it has been growing ever since. On top of the organizational materials, I also wanted to create a resource for social workers to feel connected. My social media series, through Social Work Creative, has opened an amazing community for people in the field to communicate about hot topics in the industry.

Social work can be such a fulfilling career, but it’s also important for me to have a life outside the office. I love to spend time with my amazing family and friends. Together we like to explore whenever we get the chance. Whether that’s a zoo, museum, or the beach, I love experiencing new places and meet new people. My dream trip is to visit Africa and build a safe home for single parents and their children.

I have some big dreams for here at home, too. As this Social Work Creative space grows, I want to keep offering resources and tools for social workers to feel motivated, empowered, creative and of course organized. I hope I can make someone’s life a little easier with my products, while they’re doing such important work for the world we live in.
